Founded by William Li, NIO are a chinese startup that are pushing boundaries in the automotive and electric vehicle industry. NIO’s aim is to redefine the car ownership experience. In 2016, NIO had launch event where they revealed their incredible EP9 supercar, along with the brand’s new identity, created by forpeople.

I was part of the team at Sennep that was responsible for re-designing their website which was released at the launch event.

As one of two designers on the project, we began by mapping out the UX structure with a comprehensive set of wireframe prototypes that we could share with various stake holders. Once the structure was agreed we then moved onto implemented the new brand identity that had be created by forpeople

Sennep teamed up with forpeople to create a bespoke web page that showcased the performace and engineering of the two cars. The storyboard had already been mapped out, so my role was to make sure we had a flexible enough design that worked with the animation. The design had to work across a number of device sizes, and I had to ensure that all the motion, typography and UI elements worked seamlessly with the two animations.

The NIO EVE experience was then showcased at the SXSW festival.
